Project Manager- A/C Load Reduction ProgramSalt Lake City, UT 

 

Managed the replacement of over 100,000 one-way load control devices with upgraded two-way devices in the five most populous counties in Utah.  Managed the primary vendor and their trade allies performing the upgrades as well as the vendor installing the wireless mesh network that will be used to report data and monitor the devices.  This contract has an annual value of approximately $15 million.

n         Developed the procedures used to monitor and manage the upgrade program.

n         Developed the program manual used for ongoing operations during the cooling season.

n         Reviewed and approved the payment of all invoices for equipment and services.

n         Worked with other Rocky Mountain Power and PacifiCorp departments to provide a smooth transition to the new technology.

ATK AEROSPACE STRUCTURES

ATK is a $4.2 billion manufacturer of composites for military and commercial space applications, space systems, and munitions. Provided direct engineering support for multiple programs including: Minuteman III, D5 Trident Missile, and commercial rocket motor case fabrication. Developed policies and procedures, led weekly meetings, and coordinated production and testing schedules.  Validated processes and equipment/machinery.

n         Trained entire plant (800 personnel) on foreign object debris (FOD) prevention techniques that reduced contamination in plant by over 50% resulting in $150 thousand in annual savings.

n         Created and led a FOD reduction conference that included 80 attendees from 30 companies nationwide.

n         Lean Process Engineer that developed training and led workshops for various operational areas throughout the facility.

n         Successfully qualified a new resin system for the D5 program that was on-time and within budget.

n         Led development of a new rocket motor igniter for the Orion Program.

Amerock is a $160 million manufacturer of consumer goods primarily for door and cabinet hardware. Designed and developed attribute and direct measurement gauges for inspection of components and assemblies.

Highlights:

n         Designed field software containers for use by Field Service Engineers.

n         Created a family of fixtures for balancing high speed rotating components to a tolerance of .01in/oz.

n         Developed and built tools for assembling, disassembling, and repair of various aircraft electrical power generators.

 

SPAULDING COMPOSITES

Spaulding Composites is a $35 million producer of commercial composites products for the power generation and water purification industry. Provided production support, product design, development, maintenance support, field engineering for customers, sales engineering, and process development. Company “expert” for the filament winding process. Directly supervised 12 employees.

 

Highlights:

n         Developed the new plant layout, and trained 20 production, maintenance, and supervisory employees on new equipment and procedures.

n         Designed new pressure head components that reduced manufacturing cost by 15%.

n         Designed and developed multiple configurations for fiberglass pressure vessels.

n         Authored and implemented all policies, procedures, and other documentations required for plant certification as an AMSE BPVC certified manufacturer.

n         Successfully led two plants through AMSE BPVC certification efforts.

n         Validated new and existing equipment and processes to ensure products met customer requirements

n         Designed new pressure vessel enclosure to reduce cost, part count and easier customer use.
